Island in the sun,
Walking into the school library as quietly as she possibly could, Jack plopped down in a seat and put her backpack down. God, you would think that maybe the teachers would pity the kids for having to lug the bags UP THE STAIRS or something, but instead Jack recieved a 'YOUR LATE JACK THAT GOES ON YOUR PERMANANT RECORD' from her last teacher. She had actually dropped her backpack and all of the things held inside down a flight of stairs and had to pick it all back up again. By herself. Because none of the freaking losers that were there when she dropped her stuff even bothered to help her. Sighing at the thought of those cruel heartless people who didn't care if she was late to class or not, Jack opened up the backpack and rummaged through it, hoping to find the book she needed to take notes on. English two was a hard class, and she had a quiz coming up in the class pretty soon on the book they were reading; The Odyssey [Is that how you spell it?] Finally find it, a pencil and the notebook she always carried around with her, she ripped out a piece of paper from it and set the rest of the notebook down on the table in front of her. It held her private thoughts, but she didn't bother to think that maybe some annoying nusance might come up and take the notebook or something. Jack began to write down some information on the blank piece of paper with her semi- girly handwriting, wondering if there was anyone out there who could save her from her total boredness.
Let's go and have some fun.

After getting directions from a random student on the grounds, Cody walked toward an older building. Maintaining his 'bad boy' aura, even though he really wasn't one at heart, he walked along with a cigarette in hand, flicking the ashes periodically. Without bothering to toss the cigarette to the ground, he walked right into the library with it, passing a female speaking on a cell phone on the way in. Staying out of sight of the librarian, he walked around the building, looking for the one familiar face around school. Without succeeding, he was on his way back out, when the librarian caught sight of him.
'Just what do you think you're doing?!'
"Sitting," Cody stated nonchalantly, ignoring the rest of the librarian's yelling, and instead put his free hand up, setting his index finger on his lips. "Shh, people are trying to read," he told her, smirking at Jack then sitting across from her. "Hey, Jack attack."

Sun shines, Clouds rain,
Jack was too busy trying to write down and retain the notes she was taking on the book, so she didn't hear anybody come into the library. She DID hear the librarian talking to someone with a familliar voice, and from the tone in her voice, Jack could tell that the librarian was getting a bit brissled. Looking up from her handwriting which was getting sloppier by the minute, Jack's bright blue eyes met with a familliar face. Hearing the also familliar nick name, Jack smiled at her friend Cody as he sat down in front of her. "Hey Cody. I hope you realize that nothing rhymes with your name," Oh great, now Jack would never get her notes done. Unfortunately she wasn't one of those girls who could talk to somebody and write at the same time. Jack had tried that many times, and had ended up writing what she was trying to say, or having to past for long moments, stuff like that. Maybe they could get all of their talking done at once..? No thats not the point of a conversation; To get it done. "So hows it going?" The teenager asked before returning her orbs [weird word] to the paper again; It was filling up slowly since her handwriting was so small.
Train Whistles blow and Guitars Play.

Hearing the comment, he shrugged a little bit. "Well then you'll have to be clever then won't you," Cody said, using his free hand to brush his hair that was falling to his face, back. It was almost intriguing to hear what the girl had said- I hope you realize that nothing rhymes with your name. that's what he liked about Jack. She was original- not one of the snobs that made up half the population. Not to mention she was pretty. He shook the very thought from his head. It didn't fit. He and Jack were friends. Just... friends. Would they ever be more?
"Eh not too much. Other than the normal roughing up from the jocks. How are the 'beautiful people' treating you?" he said. Couldn't hurt to ask. He wasn't really worried when it came to whether or not Jack would share her personal life with him. Eventually he would tell her how he felt about her.
Stifling a yawn, he glanced at her, then back out at her paper. He hadn't gotten much sleep the night before... sleeping near the highway wasnt that easy. Sleeping wasn't for Cody anyways.

Summer days never end,
Jack probably would hav to be cleaver in order to figure out what rhymed with Cody. Sody? Boat..y? There was nothing that actually made sense. Besides that, Jack was definately not a poet. She used to have a friend who would try to help her out with her poems, if you could call them that, and that was where Jack had gotten the rhyming talent that she had at the moment. Maybe motey..? Sorry. "I hate jocks. They were put on this planet to punt things, make out with cheerleaders and get sweaty. Thats not how I would want to live my life personally but I guess it fits them.." Yeah some jocks could be annoying, usually the guy ones who only seemed to want to tackle a person if their team got a point or look up a cheerleaders extremely short skirt. Jack laughed at Cody's responce, the pretty people. The people who would probably be in the pretty people clique didn't give Jack the time of day. Some of her friends would probably be thought of as pretty by the boys, but she didn't swing that way, thank you. "The pretty people who would spit on me because I don't have a one inch waisteline, or the pretty people being the girls you think are hot and I happen to hang out with them?" It was a normal question to Jack, someone was always asking about the cute people that she hung out with. Yeah it was always Jack you came to for friend information. Always the friend. Depressing, I would say. Jack put down her pencil, not really wanting to write anymore but instead have a conversation. She loved talking to people, hearing other people talk also even if its about something completely random and stupid. Jack especially loved talking to people who were her good friends, like Cody.
But these autumn days last longer[/size][/sub]

"Sure, it'd probably be more fitting if they lived at a zoo," he said vaguely, not explaining what he meant quite yet. Reaching into his pocket, he slipped his fingers into the cigarette box. Feeling around, he realized it was empty. "Crap," he muttered, just what he needed.
"The highschool queens." he paused a moment and held up the empty box, "like Alessandra, Emily, Hollie?" Cody said. The three high school queens. There was the stunning beauty Alessandra, the bitch, Emily, and the actually friendly one, Hollie. Cody thought they were hot, who wouldn't, but he secretly thought Jack was just as beautiful.
He wanted to tell her so badly. But he was afraid she didn't feel the same way. She was gorgeous. They way she did her hair and didnt care what anyone thought. The way she said what was on her mind, regardless of someone's feelings.

[♥] IT FEELS LIKE HOME ONCE AGAIN.
Jack laughed at Cody's responce before covering her mouth to muffle the sound and rummaging through her backpack as she had done at her arrival. She knew there was a water bottle in there somewhere, she had put it there when she had found out that she would be taking gym. Her father had told her that she might end up getting dehydrated or something, so she bought the water bottle. Just the thing she wanted to happen was to have the librarian, with her pinched up face and yellow teeth, come over and tell her that she was laughing too loud. So Jack had to be sure that she wouldn't end up being too loud. Being kicked out of the library when she needed the shelves and shelves of books was just not an option. "Yeah I would say they belonged in the zoo. They would be enough entertainment for people of all ages." Jack said with her voice lowered a bit, but still saying the last part of her sentence as though she was an announcer on the newest hit show. Jack shrugged; She didn't really know either of the girls, although she did know Hollie. "The only person I know out of that small list is Hollie. I met her recently in the cafeteria but yeah shes doing okay. She shared her cookie with me today" Jack said with a proud smile, glad to have a friend such as Hollie. She was one of the not so many that she had made in the new town. "What are the other two you mentioned like?" Jack asked, letting her curiousity get the best of her. OOC;; If you want to respond using your Emily account its fine with me :] I know who you mean.

Without even glancing up at her grin, he began laughing; Cody knew she'd been trying not to laugh. "That's not particularly what I meant, but," he stopped in the middle of his sentence, and stood up. He went over to the libriarian, and after a few exchanging of words he pulled the yearbook off it's shelf. He walked back over to Jack then tossed it up to her, "Go nuts." He kept the laughter that was aching to leave him, pinned down for the time being. He opened it to their grade.
"What I meant, was that I'm sure they don't even know my name," he told her. "Emily is a snob... she thinks she's perfect and everyone's a loser but her 'inner circle'." He put air quotes in inner circle. "And Alassandra is pretty, she's the one all the guys liked at one point or time. She is nice enough I guess, just when she's around Emily or Demi- Oh yeah. Demi is another one. She's okay... Just... I think Emily is the meanest one because when they're seprate only she is mean. But when their together they all are."
He reached forward and highfived her. "REally? She shared her cookie with you Jackie? You get a gold star for being brave. It must have taken alot of guts to march up to her and demand she share your cookie." Cody said with a boyish grin.

[♥] THIS GENTLE BREEZE THAT BLOWS AGAINST US.
Jack wondered where he was going when he got up and left, but figured that he would probably come back since he had left his stuff [if he hadn't ever brought any stuff with him then im sorry ><;] Returning to her writing for a moment, thinking that maybe she would get something done before Cody returned, he came back with the yearbook and tossed it at her. It was a good thing that she had pretty good reflexes, or else it might have hit her somewhere that guys didn't really want to mess with, if you know what I mean. Flipping through the glossy pages with enterest, and in search of the people they were talking about, Jack found one of them automatically. She had a picture of her using up about the entire page, and was surrounded by people who were pretty much drooling over her. Jack couldn't guess which one of them it was, but she didn't really care. They all kind of sounded the same to her; Kind of snobby and stuck up, trying to look like somebody that they aren't in front of the crowd. Jack felt sorry for those who couldn't act normal in front of people. Jack returned the high five, again with her kind of quick reflexes, and laughed at his responce. Covering her mouth with her left hand again, Jack glanced over at the librarian. She hadn't seemed to hear Jack although she wasn't sure how she could have missed the sound. It pretty much bounced off of the the walls. Thats what always happened when it came to libraries. "I did not demand a cookie, she was nice enough to share it with me. I bet you wouldn't share your cookie with me. What a lousy friend you are." Jack said, pretending to be upset. As if she was offended about anybody not sharing their cookies with her. Anyways, Jack knew that most people would share their cookies with her, some of them just to get her out of the way or something.

"But they all have problems, they just hide them better than us. I went to juvie for a year." he said with a shrug of his shoulders. He didn't care if people knew that he had just gotten out of juvie; didn't matter too much to him. Cody hadn't stood up, but remained on the chair, sitting down, while occasionally looking up at her.
He laughed a bit as well. "Aw you know I'd share my cookies with you Jack-Jack." Cody said with a trace of grin upon his face. "That's Emily." he said. "I don't really see why she hsa to be so fake. For once couldnt someone real be popular?" he said, thinking aloud, knowing this was a joke anyways... or hoping it was.

[♥] YOU'RE LIKE COMING HOME.
Why should people have to hide their problems though? Problems weren't the same thing as zits, they weren't supposed to be covered up with..Well cover up obviously. Although Jack didn't believe that people should walk around screaming 'DUDE LOOK AT ME, I HAVE CANCER' like they're proud of it or something, but they don't have to cover up their problems either. Just a theory, it is. "You went to juvie? Why didn't I know this?" Jack asked, her eyes turned from fasination to curiosity. Well it wasn't like they had been friends for 398472184 years, the two of them, but something that semi- large was enough to tell a person, right? Jack's nickname sounded good mixed with Cody's voice, Jack thought then shook her head. What was she thinking? Cody her good FRIEND? Still, just because they were friends didn't mean they couldn't be so much more, right? Shaking the thought from her head, Jack nodded her head before speaking. "Of course you would." She said sarcastically, "The one that fell on the ground and had some type of hair or something coming out of it" Bleh, hairy cookie. That didn't sound too apitizing [spelling. gar] Still Jack was just messing around with him and knew that he would probably share the cookie with her, and not the one that had fallen on the ground and had things growing out of it. "Heyy I'm popular..Or I used to be before I became the new kid." Being the new kid sucked. Period. Everyone looked at you like you were some type of freak when you came into the class for the first time, and the teachers always seemed to want to tell the kids that there would be a new addition to the class, like they want everyone to make up some image in their head of the person they always wanted to be their classmate.

Truth was, he more then likely wouldn't go back to juvie. There was always that possibility though... it only takes a second to make a bad decision, and much longer to fix the damage. It was part of what he had to talk to his sister about... he was tired of always being looked at as the bad twin, though by now, he'd become used to it. It'd become apart of him really, a part that he hated very much.
"Because I didn't want to have this discussion. I did something really bad Jackie and I did time for it. God you're gonna think I'm a moron," He pasued and sighed. "I got involved with the wrong type of kids and I sure paied for it. They told me they'd shoot my father if I didn't steal them this car. So I did. And the police nabbed me."
To be perfectly honest, Cody just wanted things to go back to the way they used to be. Back when he and Lizzie didn't fight each other, when their parents didn't compare the two, back when they had stuck together instead of isolating and trying to hurt the other. He just wanted his other half back... though he'd never state it aloud. There were a lot of things that he wouldn't say aloud, at least, not yet.
"Yes Jack," he said. "I would give you the hairy cookie- after I threw it up." Cody smirked. Just say it, you loser. Tell her you are in love with her. No... I cant. She doesnt feel that way.

Tick tack toe, you're fitting into place;
If Cody didn't want to discuss it, why was he getting into it? Was it possible that Jack was one of those awesomely cool people who had the power to make people say things they didn't really want to say? That would be awesome, even though they might end up admititing something that they really shouldn't have. "Thats what I probably would have done also. My dad is awesome." Jack said with a smile, thinking about her dad, the only father she had ever known.. He didn't usually punish her or yell at her or attack her when he wasn't sober or anything. Jack's dad was just always there, and seemed to listen when you talked to him. I don't know, he just had something special in him. Like Jack might have had in her also? Quite possible. "Well at least your here now, right? Here in sucky old school, which might as well be prison. But you have Jack, which makes everything better" She was only kidding and knew that she probably wouldn't help anybodys day to be any better. Oh yeah, just because Jack was at school everything was amazingly perfect right? Wrong. "Eww you sicko." Jack replied, giggling. She didn't even want to think about how the cookie might h ave gotten hairy if he had thrown it up. I shiver at the thought of it. "Instead of giving it to me, maybe you could give it to a cheerleader though. I'm sure one of them would love a hairy thrown up cookie, right? Why give it to me when you can give me one at any time?"

It was true, he acted a lot different then the way he actually was. He was pretty good at playing fake- sometimes his lies convinced even him. Not healthy of course, but heck, he was wonderful at it. There were times though, when he opened up a little bit, showing Jack the way he really was. Now was one of those times. His guard was down for the most part, as he was too busy trying to figure out how to handle the Lizzie situation. As stated many times before, she was his weakness.
"Yeah I like my dad," he replied in agreement. "Yeah you make everything better Jack-Jack," he added with a satisfied nod. "When I got arrested and sent to juvie, my parents had been expecting it," Cody told her with a bit of a shrug. No big deal.
"You don't look seem like a girl who deserves a hairy cookie," he told her immediately. He chuckled at her suggestion. "Yeah Jack, they would take it right away." He kicked her softly under the table.
