&&If I'm Hungry
"Gravy or biscuit?" the lunch lady grumbled as she smaked the mashed potatoes onto Bryn's plate. Bryn grumbled to herself and then shrugged.
"I don't eat either so..." she began to move slowly down the lunch line.
"Then you can have both," the lunch lady threw them onto her plate. Bryn pushed it back.
"On second thought, I'm on a diet. And I'm not hungry. I'm officially a vegetarian," Bryn turned and walked away, down to a table where she sat, grumbling and mumbling to herself. Why the heck did she want to come here in the first place? The caf' staff wasn't the best and they didn't appreciate her, she didn't want to talk chorus, she wanted just drama, and to top it all off, she was failing algebra.
What a year!
Bryn sighed and opened up her black Jansport backpack, pulling out a white and pink floral notebook that said "My Thoughts," on the front. She flipped it open and viewed it's contents, running her fingers up and down the spine, which was spiral and clear. She opened it to the first page. Blank.
Then to the second. It had some sketches on it, nothing pretty at all. Just some random anime inspired sketches that didn't look too great, since Bryn wasn't an artsy girl. The only art she knew how to do was to act and to fail classes. If that counted that is.
Then the third, which were some of her secrets. They noted that she wished she had a boyfriend, which was the one goal that she had for this year. She never had a boyfriend before, so she didn't know what to do, but wouldn't it just be so exciting to get one and then keep him for a while? That would just be too perfect for Bryn and she wouldn't have to worry about trying to keep up with anything. If she had a boyfriend, time would stand still and all would be calm on these rough seas that she called her life.
Now, if only she had someone to talk to during her boring, hungry lunch time. She didn't want to eat that crap that they served up in the line, but she didn't want to go without, so she dug into her pocket for seventy-five cents and then bought a soft dough chocolate chip cookie to eat and munched it without caring to even realize that she had gotten an M&M™ cookie instead.
But who really cared anyway?
